Comfort Food in the Catskills

Comfort Food in the Catskills

Instead of summer weekends out East, New Yorkers flock upstate in the wintertime to breathe clean air and hit the ski slopes. What better way to celebrate your chilly weekend than with some wine and comfort food? There really is none. So we ventured out of the city to find all the greatest Catskills eats for you this winter. It's cold out there, so we're packing on the carbs to stay warm! Because #hibernation.

Eating More in Baltimore

Baltimore, Maryland is home to Camden Yards, row houses and street art. During my time here I have come to realize that it is one of the most underrated unique cities that our country has to offer. It's like a hidden gem in plain sight. With over 200 neighborhoods there is no shortage of history, funky style, street art and of course…food! From Fells Point to Federal Hill, from Hampden to Canton, we searched the streets to bring you our favorite Charm City eats.

United Kingdom Food Tour

United Kingdom Food Tour

One of the coolest things about my job is that I get to travel around the world to some of the most beautiful destinations and eat some of their most delicious foods. When I was invited on a United Kingdom food tour I was instantly in. When I told my friends, I got a different response. They were like “I didn’t think the U.K. is known for its food, why are you going there?” or “how many fish and chips can you really eat for 5 days?” And that’s when I realized: wow, Americans have such a misconception of British food (or what we think it is, anyway). To me, that made this U.K. tour all the more exciting.

Safari at Singita Boulders

Safari at Singita Boulders

I never really paired the words "luxury" and "safari" together until I had the once in a lifetime experience to stay at the Singita lodges at Kruger Park in South Africa. The point of a safari is to become one with nature and really witness the beauty of animals in their natural habitat, so of course I felt like a cop out by staying in a luxury lodge. Now, I know that if I ever safari again (which I hope to God I do) I will not be doing it any other way.....

Chowin' Down in Cape Town

Chowin' Down in Cape Town

Cape Town is just spectacular. From the gorgeous scenery to the people…to the food and the wine. It’s my new dream city, minus the fact that it’s a whopping 21 hours away. While I only had 4 days to spend there, I made sure to eat like I was there for eternity....

Weekend Getaway: Gurney's Newport Resort & Marina

Weekend Getaway: Gurney's Newport Resort & Marina

Ok don’t judge me here, but I think I’m one of the few New Yorkers who doesn’t prefer to spend every summer weekend in the Hamptons. For me, summer is the prime time to go exploring, enjoy the weather and try new things. It’s also the best time to travel to some of the east coast’s finest destinations outside of NY state… such as Newport, Rhode Island....

8 Dynamite Dinner Spots in Barcelona

8 Dynamite Dinner Spots in Barcelona

Oh my goodness. After a summer of non-stop, round the clock work, I have never needed a vacation so much. I am saying this now, just after getting off my flight from a 10-day vacation in Barcelona — now one of my favorite cities in the world.

Earlier this year, it seemed like forever since I’d excitedly suffered from a case of wanderlust. The last time I traveled to another foreign country was January 2014, so the foreign country feels felt very foreign to me at this point. But luckily for me, my parents had one of those “life is too short moments” back in February, and we decided to book a vacation to a random destination. Barcelona was the choice we went with....

The Time I Ate Chicago

The Time I Ate Chicago

As many of you may know, I have worked with Spoon University for quite some time now. While my time as a student is almost over and I am now the "Editor at Large," (that term just sounds so funny, like I'm an editor on the loose or something) I got to spend my final semester with Spoon doing something completely awesome: going to Chicago to attend Food Network in Concert, interview Food Network stars, and eat all the foods I could put my hands on. It was awesome.....

Dining Along in Hong Kong

Dining Along in Hong Kong

While I, along with the majority of people in the world, usually spend the holidays resting at home, the restless New Yorker in me decided to make this year's vacation eventful and productive. Instead of relaxing in the suburbs over holiday break (it only leads me to feel restless and helpless within the first few days of January) I spent three weeks studying and exploring one of the most culturally and gastronomically diverse cities in the world — Hong Kong.....

Eating My Way Through Saint-Tropez

Eating My Way Through Saint-Tropez

While I usually chronicle my culinary journeys in Manhattan, this post will be about another fascinating city in the world: Saint-Tropez, France. I was lucky enough to spend a week there with my family where we shamelessly indulged in the finer things in life (aka. foie gras, truffles, and cheese) and had the opportunity to dine at some of the finest restaurants in the south of France. From Saint Tropez's most renowned 3 Michelin star restaurant, La Vague D'Or, to an unnamed creperie in a charming alleyway, here is a restaurant review roundup of my very fattening vacation.....
