New York is one of the most foodie friendly cities in the world. This is a no-brainer. There are tons of different restaurants on every block and new eateries are constantly opening. But who thought that the food adventure would begin the minute you step off the train and into the concrete jungle? If you arrive in Grand Central Terminal, you must come hungry because the options are endless and this is a spot you have to check off your foodie bucket list.
I’ve been on the good old Grand Central Food Crawl (I named this myself) a bunch of times. Every year, new vendors pop up on the scene and since GCT only accepts some of the best, I think it’s always worth my time to check out. This year, I hit up 6 (lol yea I know…I said come hungry!) and I wanted to give you the lowdown on my fave spots .
If you’re like me, you always need a good slice. I don’t know what it is, but if I’m about to hop on a train, I almost always pick up a slice of pizza from the station so I can enjoy it on the train. Prove Pizzabar’s got a slice stand and they’ve also got a sit down for those of you who enjoy a nice sit down meal.
Get your fiesta on with tacos, chips and guac, enchiladas, burritos……churro sundaes…..*cue the passionate cry*.
Because you can’t go to New York without eating some falafel and pita.
Just incase you forgot about this classic gem. I think I’m actually addicted to the Shackburger and their cheese squiggle fries.
Grand Central Oyster Bar
Now this is the place to sit down and treat yourself. If you like oysters and even enjoying a nice cocktail, this is the place.
You didn’t think I wouldn’t give you a good dessert option would you? Of course, there’s Magnolia Bakery in the dining concourse, but I’m a sucker for ice cream too and Jacques Torres is the place.
Now you know and you’ll thank me later.
